1) How do the chart and the graphs help explain the political cartoon ?

In 1787 - 98% of the population were the Third Estate (Urban low class & peasant farmer) , 2% of the population were the Second Estate (Made up of rich noble) and less than 1% of the population  were made of the First Estate (Made up of clergy of Roman Catholic Church).  

2) Why might the First and Second Estates be opposed to change ?

They would oppose change because the First and Second Estates have wealth and power over all other estates.

Poor people now look every dirty or not well dressed, they have ripped or torn bags , shoes & etc. They have basically no money to fix them selfs physically. NOW Rich people look clean well dressed , they have nice shoes , clothes and phones - anything expensive that they can lay hands on. 

Though you can never judge or assume someone is rich or poor but the way they dress, look or how much money they have in hand.
